The Charity

Your participation in this race helps make a difference by supporting the work of the Serena Williams Fund. Serena’s main focus is in two areas: helping individuals or communities effected by senseless violence; and ensuring equal access to education. Outside of her main focus, Serena will often take the opportunity to change a life, or make an impact when she is able. Serena is proud to partner with organizations such as UNICEF, Build Africa Schools, the Equal Justice Initiative and Beyond the Boroughs Scholarship Fund. She continues to seek partners doing great work.

Course Maps

  • Both the 5K and Quarter Marathon courses have changed slightly from 2014 due to construction on the Venetian Causeway, which restricts our use of Dade Blvd due to emergency vehicles needing 24/7 access to it. We will have the same start and finish line from 2014. The course will now turn from Washington Ave onto 21st St and head east to the boardwalk then continue north on the boardwalk before turning around and heading back to Lummus Park on the boardwalk and beach walk. We have removed the section on Dade Blvd, Prairie and Meridian Ave per the City of Miami Beach's wishes. We will post the course maps soon on the website once we have them finalized with the City. Thank you for your patience!

The course has 1 block of hard packed sand at the start before being on streets and the paved beachwalk for 95% of the course for both the 5K and Quarter Marathon. Both race distances finish with the last 3 blocks on hard-packed sand from 14th to 11th St in Lummus Park. We will have abundant signage, volunteers, cones and barricades to guide you. Please study the maps and educate yourself on your route. Our course is stroller friendly even on the hard-packed sand. We also can accommodate any athletes with disabilities or special needs. Please email for more information and help with any ADA or disability questions. We will be posting a map of the start/finish line and expo layout in greater detail as we get closer to the race.

    Course Time Limit
We will have a hard 2 hour course limit for both the 5K and Quarter Marathon. The start/finish line and course will be open from 8-10am. This accommodates both runners and walkers.

    • 5K (COMING SOON)
    • Quarter Marathon (COMING SOON)

Weather, Water/Aid Stations and Restrooms

  • Miami Beach is known for being very comfortable for running in December. Historically, the high is 78 with a low of 64 so expect very pleasant race temps in the upper 60's and abundant sunshine. We suggest to dress in light layers and according to the latest weather forecast for the best race experience. We will not have a gear check so please keep that in mind when considering how much clothing to bring along.
  • We will have abundant water and Gatorade at our 2 course aid stations, which runners and walkers will have the opportunity to grab from a friendly volunteer on the way out and back on the course. The 5K will go by our water station on Dade Blvd in front of Miami Beach High 2 times and the Quarter Marathoners will go by the Beach High water station twice as well as the water station on the beachwalk at 17th St twice. Hydrate well and run within your pace.
  • Restrooms will be available at the start/finish line in Lummus Park and also at the 10th St lifeguard station. There will be also be public restrooms on the course at 14th St along the beachwalk.

  • Please park in the City of Miami Beach parking garages in surrounding Lummus Park area:
    • 10th St and Collins Ave (Pelican Garage)
    • 11th St and Washington Ave
    • 13th St and Collins Ave
    • 7th St and Washington Ave
    • 16th St and Collins Ave
    • 5th St and Collins Ave
  • There are also many other parking garages in the Ocean Drive, Lincoln Rd, Lummus Park and Deco Art District. Please arrive early to ensure you are not stuck in bad traffic on race morning.
